Can I ride on Sandy Bay Beach?
Limited in January or busy summer periods. Winter advanced trail rides go on sandy bay beach. Includes the summer months on the advanced trails. As sandy bay is a very busy surf beach it is not a place for beginner riders and busy for horses in summer months. Top ride trail and 2 day package ride on sandy bay beach.
Can we swim the horses?
Can I double with my child/What is the age limit?
No we do NOT double for H & S reasons. 1 rider per horse.
How big are the groups and can I book as a single?
Can we go fast?
Our horses have to deal with quite steep northland terrain and most of our rides are walking paced with fantastic views. There is options for experienced riders to canter on the beach for the more advnaced trails. (during the middle summer months it is too hot for the horses to go fast paced). Other times of the year we can increase the pace for experienced riders on the advanced trails only. We work with what is fair on the horses welbeing.
What to expect riding in the summer heat?
Due to fairness for the horses in the summer heat we take it easy or cancel/postpone when over 30 degrees celsius.
Is there Accomodation at Sandy Bay Horses?
