- Kiley Pullman
The Sandy Bay Property has been developed into a Quality Boutique trail riding company. A fresh water stream runs up the valley which the trails follow, then steeper hills and tracks take you up into stunning views of Sandy Bay and yonder. The very large neighbouring coastal farm is also accessed for our rides for the more capable riders.
Our horses are trail riding horses and it is all about kicking back, relaxing and watching the view. These are not fast paced horse rides, however options for the experienced are available.
Kiley started riding her own horse regularly very young, jumping, pony club, eventing & trail. Right from the beginning, Kiley had a natural ability to connect with horses, her sensitivity enabling communication pathways between her and the horse. By running a whole herd of horses at Sandy Bay horse trails Kiley discovered massive advantages within her training journey, "these horses are living quite close to how they evolved to be socially, and I integrate into their social system and then we go from there! Some arrive so shut down and it is very special watching them come out of themselves, they are quite surprised that I can hear them initially." She has spent many years working hard to develop her trail riding business as it is today, "a place where visitors can experience the connection of horses."
Kiley continues to work with foals, young horses, and more advanced training. Rescuing disadvantaged horses, rehoming, and teaching.
Loretta Anderson adds her wonderful wealth of horse knowledge to Sandy Bay Horses. Riding in Pony club, showing and eventing. Has worked for Lion breweries training the NZ Shire horse team with the All Blacks, also worked at Hyde Park London Stables as a riding instructor for several years.
