The Ride:

Embark through steep Northland farm tracks, climbing high into the coastal landscape, rewarded by impressive views. Follow native forest tracks & enjoy views over the Hidden Valley for a peaceful break and a tasty packed lunch. On the return home, divert through one of northlands pristine beaches. This ride is generally a slow place, predominately due to steep climbs and descents. 

 

ADVANCED RIDERS ONLY*

*Full-Day treks are ONLY suitable for people with extensive riding experience. If your guide feels that your riding level does not meet the requirement, your trek will be shortened. See cancellation policy for details.

Advanced Rider – an experienced rider who is fit and has an independent seat with soft hands. Must be confident on a forward-moving horse at all gaits over rough and variable ground on open terrain. This ride has a number of steep hills and narrow tracks that require a confident rider.

 

A very good level of fitness is required for this trail. There may be parts of the trail that require hiking on foot. Must be able to mount and dismount without a mounting block.

• Rider weight Limit: 80kg / 176.5 pounds

• Packed picnic lunch provided.

• Tack Type: predominantly western/english

• This ride cannot go ahead in high winds or rain, please read cancellation policy in FAQs.

WHAT TO BRING:

Helmets will be supplied. If you would prefer to use your own gear or extras like gloves, please do so. Helmets are required on all rides. 

​

Recommended Items:

• Long pants 

• Comfy socks and riding boots (closed toe shoes only)

• Warm top on cooler days/jacket

• Sunscreen (NZ sun can be very strong!)

• Sunglasses

• Riding gloves, if preferred
