Experience Horseback Riding

On our private ride for experienced riders you can book one or two people with your own guide. Observe the vast pacific ocean from northland hill country, enjoy the sea breeze as you ride one of our beautiful horses to a private Pohutukawa fringed beach.

THE HORSEBACK RIDE:

Embark through our unique Northland coastal hilly landscape with your own private guide, be rewarded by panoramic coastal views. Reaching stunning private Calm Bay, tucked away on the edge of the sea fringed by Pohutukawa trees. On the return home follow the same route to reach the stables and feel free to then enjoy sandy bay for an after ride swim!

ADVANCED RIDERS

**This ride is ONLY suitable for experienced riders. If your guide feels that your riding level does not meet the requirement, your trek will be shortened. See cancellation policy for details. Walking & some faster pace if suitable.​​

 

Advanced Rider – Life-time rider, an experienced rider who is fit and has an independent seat with soft hands. Must be confident on a forward-moving horse at all gaits over rough and variable ground on open terrain. This ride has a number of steep hills and narrow tracks that require a confident rider. A good level of fitness is required for this trail. Must be able to mount and dismount without a mounting block.

KEY INFORMATION:

From December - April:

• Rider weight Limit: 85kg / 187.5 pounds

• Tack Type: English, Stock

• This ride cannot go ahead in high winds or rain

PRICE INCLUDES:

We will provide you with helmets and help you feel comfortable with your gear and horse. This private ride is for 1 or 2 people per booking.

WHAT TO BRING:

Helmets will be supplied. If you would prefer to use your own gear or extras like gloves, please do so. Helmets are required on all rides. Saddles have safety stirrups, wear closed shoes.
